The Developmental Approach

Since the beginnings of Psychology, there has been interest in the importance of childhood in the development of personality, behaviour and thinking.

Developmental studies use child participants to examine the processes which are taking place as the child matures.

Developemntal studies are often longitudinal in nature, meaning that they track participants over a long period of time and repeatedly test them to compare abilities.
