Veale and Riley - Mirror Gazing in Body Dysmorphic Disorder

Body Dysmorphic Disorder is a type of chronic mental illness in which sufferers can not stop thinking about a flaw in their appearance.

 

One aspect of BDD is that patients often spend hours looking in the mirror.

 

This study uses a questionnaire approach to try to gain insight into the motivations and thought proceesses associated with the mirror gazing behaviour.
