Freud - Case Study of a 5 Year Old Boy

Freud developed a set of theories which he used to explain human behaviour based on unconscious thoughts and drives and psychosexual development.  In this study, he describes how these theories were put into practise to explain and treat the phobia of a 5 year old son of one of Freud's adherents.

 

The study emphasises the importance of the Oedipus complex and castration anxiety during the phallic stage of development.

 

The study is very long, in fact filling a long book with observations and discussion.
